Thy Kingdom Come!
Dear Everest Parents,
How blessed we are to have so many beautiful autumn evenings, especially last Friday which was the perfect setting for our Harvest Fest celebration. Thank you to the volunteers who helped our families enjoy a warm bonfire and hayrides outside – and the food, music, and face painting inside. I thoroughly enjoyed my grilled Polish sausage and joining the limbo-line fun!
Thank you for attending our parent-teacher conferences and partnering with us in your child’s integral formation. These meetings are vital for fostering strong communication and collaboration to ensure the best support for your child’s development in faith and learning. If any parent would like to meet with me, please CLICK HERE to sign up.
During your conferences, you should have received a copy of your child’s MAP test results. Beginning this year, we will only test two times a year (fall and spring). Testing only twice a year maximizes instructional time and reduces testing fatigue, allowing for more meaningful growth comparisons over a longer period. However, we will continue testing in the winter for students who score below the national average to allow targeted support for those who benefit most from mid-year checks. This exception ensures that struggling students are monitored without requiring all students to undergo extra testing. If you would like to learn more about the MAP Growth test, please CLICK HERE. If I can help further clarify your child’s results, please do not hesitate to contact me.
October is the month traditionally dedicated to the Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This is why we held the Living Rosary earlier this month. At today’s Mass, we brought back a pre-COVID devotional practice – that of asking our families to take turns hosting the Pilgrim Queen of the Family in their homes and praying together as a family. Each week a different student from each class is chosen to bring the Pilgrim Queen shrine home. I invite you to create a prayerful place in your home where your family can gather and pray before this image of Our Blessed Mother. As the venerable Fr. Patrick Peyton famously said, “The family that prays together stays together.”
Lastly, I want to congratulate the 5th/6th Girls Volleyball team on playing well in the playoffs and making it to the Championship game to be held tomorrow, Saturday, October 26th at 5:45pm at St. Francis High School in Wheaton. Please join me in praying for a victory for our Lady Knights and hoping for a big Win!
In Christ’s peace,
