Thy Kingdom Come!

Dear Everest Parents,

Every Thursday, each class visits the chapel to spend a few minutes, usually in silence, before Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament. Today, Fr. Michael invited your child to light a candle and place it on the altar to represent answering the call to be a light for Christ. Alone we are a weak light but joined together with other lights, we can set the world ablaze!

Thank you to all the family and friends who joined us for our All Saints Day Mass. Parading through the school in a saint costume reminded us to follow in the footsteps of the saints. Singing the Litany of Saints encouraged us to call on the saints to intercede for us. Thank you to our middle schoolers who exercised their creative and leadership skills to organize an afternoon of fun and games for our lower school students!

Yesterday, our oldest students visited St. James to offer a Mass and pray the rosary for deceased family and friends. As they walked through the cemetery praying for the dead, our students completed a beautiful spiritual work of mercy. Offering prayers for those who have died is a simple way to be an apostle and help souls get to heaven.

Tomorrow, we welcome our grandparents to Everest! I look forward to celebrating those who are the heart and soul of our extended school family. We will also close our silent auction. I hope you will share the link and bid knowing that your purchases will support our school.

Lastly, our virtue for November is Love for God. By commemorating the saints, praying for our deceased, and celebrating our grandparents, we are already off to a great start in living this virtue. May God continue to bless our community and our efforts to form Christian leaders who make a difference through their acts of love and sacrifice.

In Christ’s peace,
