Thy Kingdom Come!

Dear Everest Parents,

Last Friday, we completed our first term. Report cards will be emailed next week. A few reminders:

  • The homeroom grade is your child’s formation grade. As explained at orientation and curriculum night, the grade received is a reflection of how well a student exhibits the behavior of our 3 Be-attitudes:
    1. Be respectful
    2. Be responsible
    3. Be virtuous
  • The character skill sets clearly outline expected behaviors and attitudes. Students are expected to meet these expectations (Satisfactory). To earn a VG or E means consistent above-the-line behavior, attitudes, and effort.

As we approach this Sunday’s feast of Christ the King, I would like to share this prayer which comes from a novena that I have been praying in preparation for this celebration. It truly captures what I hope for our Everest community:

Lord Jesus, as we prepare to celebrate your feast as King of the universe, we want to open our hearts to say, “Thy Kingdom Come!” Give us the grace to identify fully with you so that, seeing the world with your eyes and loving it from your heart, we may allow the seeds of your Kingdom to grow in our own lives, in the lives of our brothers and sisters, and in society.

Be assured of my prayers for you and your families. May your celebration of Christ our King and Thanksgiving be filled with peace, joy, and family! I hope to see many of you at the Mass this Sunday!

In Christ’s peace,

Candy Hamilton Cocosign

Principal
