Thy Kingdom Come!
Dear Everest Parents,
What a joy it was to witness twice in one week the talent of our students!
- Thank you to Mr. Landowski for teaching our students to perform at our Spring Concert. Learning to play an instrument builds discipline, focus, coordination, and listening skills while also enhancing memory, pattern recognition, and creativity. These abilities transfer to other areas of learning, supporting academic success, teamwork, and personal confidence.
- Thank you to Mrs. Fontana for organizing the Talent Show, which is a wonderful way to celebrate each child’s unique gifts while helping them build confidence and express themselves creatively. It was also beautiful to see our school community come together to support and cheer each other on.
At Friday’s Mass we honored our volunteers – parents, grandparents, older siblings – in thanksgiving for their time and service this past year: our Hot Lunch Heroes, Room Ambassadors, Mountain Team leaders, Parents Association, as well as those who help at home games, school events, fundraisers, or those who come in to be mystery readers, plan class parties, or fill our teacher’s lounge with goodies. As Fr. Michael reminded us in his homily, the sacrifice of our volunteers is often hidden as an imitation of the way God loves us. And just as we should be grateful for God’s blessings, so too, should we be grateful for the love that our volunteers and benefactors show us.
Let us also give thanks for those who gave their lives to defend our country and our freedoms. Enjoy the weekend. God bless America! Our 8th graders gathered at the grotto with their buddies to light a candle in thanksgiving for all they have received at Everest, for all those who have supported them, and for themselves. May the light of Christ shine brightly through them wherever God may lead them!
