Thy Kingdom Come!

Dear Everest Parents,

We did it! Because you helped us get over 100 registrations for the upcoming Shamrock Shuffle, your children have earned an out-of-uniform day. On Monday, March 17th students may come to school dressed in green to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! I am looking forward to seeing how creatively our students dress!

Next Monday, March 10th is our High School Fair. Our middle school students will have the opportunity to meet representatives from area high schools, ask questions, even meet some Everest alumni who attend those schools! Parents are welcome to attend… and feel free to invite friends and family that may also be interested in learning more about Catholic high schools. The fair will take place in the gym from 2:00-3:30pm. (see newsletter for participating schools).

Yesterday, we kicked off the Lenten season with our Ash Wednesday Mass and our Lenten campaign (see principal pics below). Thank you to Ms. DeRoche for putting this campaign together to help us to live our Lenten journey. Yesterday, you should have also received a Magnificat Lenten Companion with daily reflections, Stations of the Cross, and helpful information about fasting and abstinence. Thank you to the St. James Sag Bridge Mission Society for providing these booklets to help us to pray better.

Other resources I would recommend:

The closing prayer from today’s Lenten reflection ties in nicely with this month’s virtue of fortitude:

Heavenly father, grant me the grace of fortitude and perseverance so that I can joyfully take up the cross and follow your Son.

Count on my prayers for you and your family during this Lenten season.

In Christ’s peace,

Candy Hamilton

Principal
