Thy Kingdom Come!

Dear Everest Parents,

This past Monday many of our students were able to honor Dr. Martin Luther King’s legacy through apostolic field trips that touched the lives of the elderly and those in need. Our kindergarten through second-graders visited Franciscan Village to share songs and special gifts that brought much joy to the residents. Our fourth graders traveled to Morningstar Mission to decorate and give gifts for a Valentine’s party for the homeless. These simple acts of charity not only help our students grow in kindness and compassion but also teach them that they have the power to impact others’ lives for good.

I am looking forward to seeing many of you at our annual WinterFest and Open House. Please invite your family and friends to come experience the warm sense of community that makes Everest so special. We begin with Mass at 11:00am and continue with fun activities for the whole family: sleigh rides, a bonfire, a magic show, and arts & crafts. Our families will also have the opportunity to see demonstrations of upcoming after school activities: chess club, art club, theater, and martial arts for young children. Food trucks from The Creamery and Joey’s Red Hots will be serving lunch and treats.

WinterFest is our kick off to Catholic Schools Week, a special time each year to celebrate the unique mission of Catholic education: fostering faith, excellence, and service. It’s an opportunity to recognize the vital role Catholic schools play in shaping young hearts and minds, helping students grow in grace and truth while building God’s Kingdom.

This week we witnessed the inauguration of our 47th president and this Friday thousands will gather in our nation’s capital to give witness to and pray for greater respect for life at the annual March for Life. Please join me in praying for our country and our nation’s leaders. May God unite us in peace and respect for each other and all human life and may He grant our leaders the humility, wisdom, and courage to defend all human life at every stage.

In Christ’s peace,

Candy Hamilton
