Thy Kingdom Come!

Dear Everest Parents,

I hope to see many of you tonight at our annual Christmas Pageant. Mr. Landowski and Mrs. Colarelli have been working hard over the past few weeks preparing your children for this evening’s presentation. I am looking forward to once again experiencing the first Christmas in the songs and performances of our students.

Last week, we rolled out our re-enrollment plans. Some of you have asked why it was so early this year. The answer is simple. We already have families who are applying so once we have final numbers for returning families, we will know how many more students we can accept. As mentioned in the re-enrollment letter, all current families are automatically re-enrolled. Therefore, you do not need to do anything unless you are not returning or wish to change your tuition payment plan.

Currently, we have 186 students. Next year, I would like to see us have 200+ students. While we have many classes at or near capacity, there is still room for growth! For this reason, I am excited to share that we are launching a new Family Referral program which will include incentives for both current and new families. Look for an email tomorrow with details on the benefits of sharing Everest with your family and friends. In addition, we have updated our website to appeal to prospective families. Check it out and let us know if you have any suggestions for what we can add to make it more attractive to those considering Everest as their future school.

Before we break for the Christmas holiday, I want to thank our families and students for their generous support of our recent apostolic initiatives. Our K-2 classes raised nearly $700 in concession sales at this past weekend’s basketball games. They will be using this money for their work with the elderly at Franciscan Village, a local nursing home. Our 3rd-5th grade classes raised money to provide 100 Thanksgiving dinners and 145 Christmas dinners to be provided through Morningstar Ministries. The gifts under the Giving Tree have been growing. If any families would like to help deliver our donations to The Women’s Center or local food pantries, please inform Mrs. Wollenberg in the front office.

Lastly, as we await with eager joy the coming of our Lord and Savior, let us reflect on these words from the opening lines the ancient hymn, Savior of the Nations, Come by St. Ambrose:

Savior of the nations, come, Virgin’s Son, make here thy home! Marvel now, O heav’n and earth, that the Lord chose such a birth.

In Christ’s peace,

Candy Hamilton
