Each year, the Church dedicates the month of October to the Holy Rosary. This devotion is deeply rooted in Catholic tradition and invites the faithful to grow closer to Christ through the loving intercession of His Mother, Mary.
The Rosary is more than a series of prayers—it is a spiritual journey through the life of Jesus. As we meditate on the Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, and Luminous Mysteries, we reflect on the key events of our salvation history. In praying the Rosary, we not only honor Mary, but we also center our hearts on Christ, seeking His peace, strength, and guidance.
The connection between October and the Rosary dates back to the 16th century. In 1571, Pope Pius V called upon Christians to pray the Rosary during the Battle of Lepanto. The victory was attributed to Mary’s intercession, and the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary was established on October 7. Over time, the entire month of October came to be associated with this powerful prayer.
At Everest Academy, the Rosary holds a special place in our community life. Our students are encouraged to pray it together, both at school and at home with their families. In doing so, we not only grow in faith but also deepen our unity as a community rooted in prayer.
This October, let us all recommit to the Rosary. Whether prayed daily, weekly, or as a family devotion, it is a simple yet powerful way to bring God’s peace into our lives. Through Mary’s gentle guidance, we are always led closer to Jesus.
