At Everest Academy, we’re proud to have passionate educators who bring not only knowledge but heart into their classrooms. One of those exceptional individuals is Mrs. Beth Wodka, our dedicated Spanish teacher who is making language learning meaningful for students from Kindergarten through 8th Grade.
After graduating from Loyola University Chicago, Mrs. Wodka began her teaching journey in the high school world, where she spent eight years igniting a love of Spanish among students at Providence Catholic High School and Lockport Township High School. Her career path shifted when she embraced motherhood, transitioning into online teaching and homeschooling her own children for the next decade—a role that deepened her understanding of personalized and flexible education.
In 2022, Mrs. Wodka brought her experience and energy to the Everest community, where she now joyfully teaches students of all ages. Her warm, engaging presence has quickly become a valued part of the school. Always looking for new ways to inspire, she recently introduced a Latin & Greek roots program, which helps students uncover the building blocks of language. By learning root meanings, students develop powerful tools to decode unfamiliar vocabulary—a skill that supports reading, writing, and critical thinking across all subjects.
Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Wodka is a devoted wife and mother of five. She and her husband Mark live in Homer Glen, where they cherish family time together. Whether it’s hiking, reading a good book, or cheering on their kids from the sidelines, Mrs. Wodka’s love of learning and family life shines through.
We’re grateful to have Mrs. Wodka on our team, guiding students not just to speak another language, but to understand and appreciate the rich history and structure of words. Her journey is a reminder that great teaching comes from both knowledge and life experience—and she brings both in abundance.
