At Everest Academy, we are blessed with educators who bring passion, dedication, and a deep love for learning into the classroom. One such remarkable teacher is Mrs. Walsh, whose journey in education is as inspiring as it is impactful.
Mrs. Walsh’s path began with a strong academic foundation. She earned an Associate of Arts in Child Care from Moraine Valley Community College before pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Loyola University. With certifications in Elementary K-9 and Upper Elementary/Jr. High, she was well-equipped to shape young minds and guide students through their academic journeys.
Her career in education started as a Preschool Teacher’s Assistant at Union Church in Hinsdale, where she nurtured the youngest learners with patience and care. She then stepped into the role of Kindergarten teacher at St. Catherine of Siena-St. Lucy School in Oak Park, fostering a love for learning in her students from the very start of their educational experiences. Later, she joined Huntington Learning Center as a one-on-one tutor, providing personalized support to help students thrive academically.
One of the most profound chapters of Mrs. Walsh’s journey came when she transitioned from the traditional classroom to the kitchen table—embarking on the incredible experience of homeschooling her children. Over the course of sixteen years and twelve grade levels, she cultivated a learning environment that was both rigorous and deeply personal, instilling in her children a love for knowledge, curiosity, and faith.
In 2018, Mrs. Walsh returned to the classroom at Everest Academy, where she took on the role of fifth-grade teacher. Since then, she has been a guiding light for her students, challenging them to grow academically while fostering a nurturing and faith-filled environment. Her ability to connect with students, inspire curiosity, and encourage a growth mindset has made a lasting impact on the Everest community.
Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Walsh has also devoted herself to serving the Church. She has generously given her time as a retreat coordinator and catechist, sharing her faith and love for Christ with various parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago. Her commitment to faith and service is evident in all she does, making her not only a dedicated educator but also a role model for students and colleagues alike.
At Everest Academy, we are incredibly grateful for Mrs. Walsh and all that she brings to our school community. Her journey reflects a lifelong dedication to education, faith, and service—values that continue to shape and inspire the next generation of students.
Thank you, Mrs. Walsh, for your unwavering commitment to excellence and your heartfelt dedication to our students!
