Building Christian Leaders: Leadership Development at Everest Academy

At Everest Academy, education is about more than academics—it’s about forming strong, faithful leaders. Leadership is not treated as an extracurricular bonus, but as an essential part of each student’s formation from preschool through eighth grade.

Rooted in our mission to build Christian leaders for tomorrow, Everest incorporates leadership development into the daily rhythm of school life. Whether it’s through public speaking opportunities, service roles, collaborative projects, or student-led prayer and liturgy, students are consistently encouraged to grow in confidence, responsibility, and moral conviction.

“We believe every child is called to lead in some way—whether in the classroom, on the playground, in their parish, or within their family,” said Mary Tellefsen, Executive Director. “At Everest, we focus on forming leaders who are not only capable, but compassionate, Christ-centered, and purpose-driven.”

Leadership at Everest is guided by Christian values—humility, integrity, and service. Students are taught that true leadership isn’t about authority, but about lifting others up and doing what is right, even when it’s hard. Our teachers serve as role models and mentors, helping students develop their voice, set goals, and learn from their experiences.

Leadership formation is reinforced through team-building activities, peer mentorship, school-wide service projects, and liturgical roles that give students real opportunities to lead with faith and purpose.

By the time they graduate, Everest students are not only academically prepared for high school—they are spiritually and emotionally equipped to be leaders in their communities and defenders of their faith in the world.

At Everest Academy, leadership isn’t just taught—it’s lived.
