Through Our Christian Pre-K Program, Students Learn:
Religion – Students explore the attributes of God, develop a love for Jesus, and engage with Bible stories from the Old and New Testaments. They also learn about liturgical seasons and holidays, fostering a foundation in the Catholic faith.
Language Arts – We focus on letter recognition, phonics, early reading skills, speaking and listening abilities, handwriting, and sentence structure to build a strong foundation for literacy.
Math – Students learn number recognition, basic math concepts, shapes, counting, beginning addition and subtraction, money, and calendar skills.
Science – Our program covers topics such as space, earth sciences (plants and water), life sciences (animals), the human body, and introduces students to the scientific process.
Social Studies – Students learn about historical figures, patriotic themes, and basic geography, all while developing an understanding of their role in the world.
In addition, students participate in P.E., art, and music. They also engage in activities that promote the development of fine and gross motor skills and have weekly Show and Tell sessions.
Our students attend Mass once a week. These experiences help young children grasp the mysteries of the faith in a concrete way.
Social and Emotional Development
At Everest Academy, social skills are a vital part of the Pre-K experience. Our teachers help children:
- Practice problem-solving in social situations.
- Recognize and express their feelings and emotions.
- Work collaboratively in groups or with partners on projects.
- Share classroom materials.
- Practice good manners.
- Communicate their needs and manage essential self-care.
Personalized Attention for Every Child
With our low student-to-teacher ratio, each child receives personal attention to ensure their academic and developmental needs are met. By working in small groups, teachers are able to support various learning styles and ensure that every child is ready for the next step in their academic journey.
