Academics
Our Purpose
To form Christian leaders who will transform society.
Our Mission
To provide the highest quality Catholic education and foster integrally formed Christian leaders. This mission is fulfilled as Everest Academy students graduate as strong Christian leaders, convinced of the truth, prepared and committed to transform society where Christian values are taught, embraced and put into practice.
The mission is pursued through the development of the whole person (integral formation) encompassing the commitment to teach, to educate, and to form.
- To teach the mind, transmitting knowledge appropriate to grade level in an environment of academic excellence.
- To educate the heart, helping each student ofster authentic values and to develop a sense of what is good, right, noble, just, and beautiful.
- To form the character, which serves as the foundation of all virtue and integrity.
Our mission is reflected in the motto: Semper Altius, “Always Higher.”
Personalized Education
Each person is unique, endowed by God with a combination of talents and gifts all his own. Education cannot be carried out en masse, but is undertaken one-to-one. Life circumstances for each student are different depending on the student's family, social, economic, emotional, and moral settings. Our students have personal contact with the director, principal, academic coordinator, dean of students, instructors of formation, as well as their teachers and all those who have a hand in their education. These administrators get to know each student as an individual. Small class sizes allow our teachers to provide individual attention to each student. Our teachers serve as mentors, not only in the classroom, but also in life. Teachers help students to identify their personal strengths and gifts and encourage them to use these gifts to serve others.
Academic Excellence
The Everest Academy curriculum was developed and licensed by the National Consultants for Education, Inc. (NCE) for schools implementing the Integral Formation® method of education. The core subjects of English, mathematics, the humanities and sciences are complemented by an array of fine arts, athletics, and technology programs.
Integral Formation
Everest Academy implements the Integral Formation® method of education - a proprietary and comprehensive system for developing and operating schools in accordance with the principles of education adopted by the Legionaries of Christ. This method of education is successfully developing authentic Catholic leaders in schools worldwide. Built upon the Christian view of the person, Integral Formation® focuses on forming all dimensions of the person: intellectual, human, spiritual and apostolic, achieving the complete or integral formation of the student. An integral formation is the base for helping each student fulfill the unique mission for which he/she was created.
Everest Academy is one of ten such schools in the United States implementing Integral Formation. Since the latter portion of the 20th century, these types of schools were started with the planning, direction, and implementation of the Legion of Christ, the founding boards of directors, and the schools' parents.
For each enrolled child these schools create an environment conducive to learning, spiritual growth, and development as leaders. A rigorous academic curriculum is supported by individual character and values formation. Combined with a dynamic program that encourages students to put their faith and virtue into action, Everest Academy students receive the formation necessary to be leaders. Teachers positively motivate their students in a caring and supportive environment. As a result, families are attracted by the unique opportunities provided by the school. The success of the Legion and its schools is well recognized by the Roman Catholic Church.
